Northwest Engineering, a mechanical consulting engineering firm, was established in 2003 and is owned and managed by Michael G. Hubbard, a licensed mechanical engineer with more than 14 years experience in the Heating, Ventilating, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) industry.
Our engineering staff are highly-trained, dedicated professionals licensed in 9 states. The firm's work includes verifying operation of building mechanical systems, improving occupant comfort and promoting efficient energy consumption.
The firm's project portfolio includes HVAC and controls design, HVAC commissioning, and retro-commissioning, plumbing systems design and commissioning, energy audits, value engineering, peer review, and testing and balancing services to public, private, and government sector clients throughout the United States.
Northwest Engineering is a company with technical and management experience and capabilities to provide for the discovery of energy conservation recommendations and best practice operational strategies. All testing and auditing is performed and certified by a licensed professional engineer to ASHRAE standards.

Michael Hubbard, PE, is the President of Northwest Engineering. Licensed in five states, Michael offers more than 14 years of mechanical engineering system design experience. A graduate of Gonzaga University, Michael has extensive project experience with educational, commercial, medical/dental, and public/municipal projects.

In Memory of Chuck Estey, PE, (1960 - 2010) was a founding principal of Northwest Engineering. The firm was established and then flourished, in large part, because of Chuck's vision, leadership, and his commitment to excellence in everything he did. Chuck was well respected and a source of inspiration to everyone who knew him. Northwest Engineering is committed to extending Chuck's legacy by producing results, not excuses. In his name, Northwest Engineering has established the "Chuck Estey Engineering Scholarship" at his alma mater, Gonzaga University.
